Title: Assessment of motor skills in children of younger school age with autism spectrum disorder practising applied behavior analysis with the MABC-2 test battery Objectives: The aim of the work is to assess the motor skills of children of younger school age with autism spectrum disorder using the test battery MABC-2 (Movement Assessment Battery for Children - Second Edition). The obtained results will be compared with the standards for Czech children and children with autism spectrum disorder who do not practice Applied Behavior Analysis. Methods: The motor skills of children with autism spectrum disorder were assessed using the MABC-2 test battery (Henderson et al., 2007) - Movement Assessment Battery for Children - Second Edition. The method of comparison was used in the work, namely the results of children with autism spectrum disorder with standards for Czech children and both groups of tested children - one group practicing applied behavior analysis with another group of children without intervention. Results: We found that children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in our sample showed a significantly higher incidence of motor problems. All involved children with ASD (n = 10) in the research fall into the 3rd zone (score below the 5th percentile), where there are significant motor...
Psychomotor development of preschool children with hearing empairment - possibilities of psychotherapeutical intervention
Dolanská, Veronika ; Bitnar, Petr (advisor) ; Zounková, Irena (referee)
Bachelor thesis on Psychomotor development of preschool children with hearing impairment - possibilities of physiotherapeutic intervention is processed in the form of case study research. The work is divided into three parts. The first part contains basic information about a hearing impairment and an interduction into specifics of education and psychomotor development of a preschool child. The main part of the work is concetrated on senzomotor deficits that are conected to hearing impairment of children. Lot of studies concerning this topic are comprised in this part. The third, practical, part contains a case study of two children - one healthy and one with a perceptional hearing defect. Based on the mentioned studies an examination with later comparism of senzomotor functions of both children was performed.
Changes of the fine and gross motor functions at patients with cerebral palsy after therapy by Nintendo Wii and Reflex Locomotion according Vojta
Píšťková, Marie ; Medunová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Kraus, Josef (referee)
Aim: The aim of this study is to assess benefits of therapy by Vojta method and by using the active videogame Nintendo Wii. The manual dexterity and gross motor function were evaluated. Methodology: The study was attended by 14 children aged 6 - 18 years. They were divided into two equal groups. The Vojta method was applied for the first group and exercising with Nintendo Wii for the second group. Each therapy took 30 days. After a 6 months break the two groups were changed. During those 6 months no targeted physiotherapy was done. The manual dexterity and gross motor functions were measured before and after the therapy and 8 weeks after finishing the therapy. The Box and Block test and the Nine Hole Peg test were used for assessment of manual dexterity and GMFM was used for testing of gross motor function. The children completed the PACES questionnaire after each of the interventions. Results: Statistics showed a significant change in the manual dexterity over the time when the Box and Block test was used. A difference between the two types of therapy has not been proven. Results of the Nine Hole Peg test were not statistically significant, neither in time nor when comparing the therapies. GMFM was not statistically significant either. The PACES did not show any difference between the therapies....

Tesařová, Kateřina ; Vařeková, Jitka (advisor) ; Prokešová, Eva (referee)
Title: MABC-2 test battery analysis of primary school children with hearing impairment Objectives: The objective of this work consisted in assessing motor skills in children from the primary school degree at elementary school Holečkova for children with hearing impairment using the assessment battery MABC- 2 (Movement Assessment Battery for Children - Second Edition). Achieved results were compared to standard population of British children. The secondary objective consisted in assessing the relation between the results from using the assessment battery and reported participation in regular movement activities. Methods: The assessment of the motor activity in children with hearing impairment was performed by using the assessment battery MABC-2 (Henderson et al., 2007). The method of comparison between the results from assessed and standard children were used in this work. It was revealed by a non- standard questionnaire whether the children do sports, in which way and where. Descriptive statistical methods in the form of graphical analyses were used to process the results. Results: Children with hearing impairment from 6 to 14 years of age were showing significant difficulties in abilities of catching and aiming on target in comparison to the standard population. Despite our expectation the...
